Athlete Interview: Latrell Harris, Archers Lacrosse Club
Featured Athlete | Premier Lacrosse League
Athletes,
We’ve got another Athlete Interview this week with Latrell Harris, a current professional lacrosse player for both the PLL and the NLL. Latrell is a defensive midfielder for the Archers Lacrosse Club in the PLL and a defender for the Toronto Rock in the NLL. This year, Latrell was named a PLL All-Star and competed for Team Canada in the World Games.
Check out our interview below:
LATRELL HARRIS INTERVIEW
TWU: What song is always making your pre-game playlists?
TWU: Are you superstitious about listening to the same songs or playlist before every game?
Not necessarily, but I feel like there’s a handful that always will get played.
TWU: What’s the atmosphere like in the Archers’ locker room? Is everyone headphones in listening to their own music, or is there music playing over a speaker? (or both)
There are three of us that use headphones. I’d say the rest is through a speaker! In the Rock dressing room, there are two people that are headphone guys.
TWU: Who, besides yourself, has the best music on the team?
On the Archers, it’s probably Fieldsy (Connor Fields). On the Rock, it’s probably Chal (Challen Rogers) or Slader (Brandon Slade).
TWU: Who is in charge of making the Archers’ pre-game warm-up?
For the Archers, it’s Ryan Ambler. For the Rock, it’s Phil Mazzuca.
TWU: Besides listening to music, do you have any other pre-game rituals or superstitions?
Couple snacks, lots of gum, and a coffee.
TWU: How do you think your career in the NLL has prepared you for being a defensive midfielder in the PLL?
It’s a total different game. I don’t know if it has. Maybe from a professional athlete standpoint.
TWU: How would you describe the experience of being able to play in the World Games? How does it compare to the PLL’s pace of play?
Any time that you get the chance to represent your country, it means everything. The experience itself is top notch. Compared to the PLL, the World Games pace of play is slower with longer possessions, and I felt the rule book changes penalty-wise.
TWU: Has your taste in pre-game music changed over the years?
I don’t believe so. Maybe added some light house music songs.
TWU: Awesome. Thanks man and best of luck against the Waterdogs this weekend!
